Treebags

As I look out my window waiting for spring to arrive, I notice something ugly, something that annoys me and brings a laugh.  Its something that is so New York, so urban, and even at times beautiful…Treebags, you see them everywhere or maybe you don’t see them at all.  They tend to blend in, to appear as part of the tree itself, maybe you don’t notice them at first, you see something moving up there and its not natural.  It could be a light colored bag that fades into the sky, or a brash yellow piece of plastic wrap, strings of white packing material long misplaced, or an old cassette tape pom pom.  Before the trees bring us new leaves, flowers and fruit we can enjoy the season of the treebags.  What would we do without them?
